The challenge

We had already helped The UK Gin brand Sipsmith with several digital asset optimization projects, including the enhancement of both textual and visual content, to increase product appeal and drive purchases.

It was time to go beyond standard assets (product images and description) and focus on the image flow as a way to innovatively communicate the unique features of each product across the brand portfolio.

The solution

Images with infographics perform better, achieving a 15% increase in sales via real life A/B testing on Amazon Germany.

We suggested a digital point of sale hierarchy to communicate each SKU’s USP on the digital shelf. This translated into shortlisting and creating an image sequence that would follow the strategy. We then overlayed a set of messages to add storytelling and communicate clearly what Sipsmith has to offer from a brand and product level.

The result

After creating a new sequence of images, and applying it to the Amazon Germany product page for the Sipsmith London Dry Gin, we conducted an A/B test where we alternated the previous image flow with the new one created by Optopus. According to all Amazon specific KPIs (sales, visits, conversion rate), the images with infographics performed better: achieving a 15% increase in sales.
